Concern over possible closure of Ballinasloe Employment Services
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Minister for Social Protection is being urged to retain employment services in Ballinasloe.
Galway East Fianna Fáil T.D, Micheál Kitt, says there is a proposal to close the social welfare and employment services offices in the town.
The closure is ahead of the roll-out of Intreo offices across the country, which are a one-stop-shop for social welfare business.
It’s understood one of these offices will be based in Loughrea which would then cater for the Ballinasloe area.
Deputy Kitt says Ballinasloe has already been hit with enough closures.
