COMMUNITY MOURNS AS TUAM CHILDREN LAID TO REST
Date Published: 24-Oct-2012
Huge crowds have gathered to pay their final respects to the two little sisters who were killed in a road crash on the outskirts of Tuam on Sunday.
2 year old Kate and 12 week old Grace Gilmore died when they were hit by a car on the N17 hard shoulder on the Milltown side of Tuam – during an afternoon stroll with their father.
Mass of the angels for Kate and Grace was celebrated in Church of the sacred heart today, where their parents, John and Michelle, got married four years ago.
The two sisters will be laid to rest in Killower cemetery this afternoon.
Neighbours have tied candles and pink ribbons outside homes in the Meadows estate as a symbol of their support for the family.
A book of condolence for Kate and Grace remains open at Tuam Town Council and in the city at County Buildings on Prospect Hill.
