COMMUNITY IN SHOCK FOLLOWING DEATH OF BABY SISTERS IN TUAM COLLISION

The Mayor of Tuam Eamon Kitt says the community is in shock at the tragic death of two baby sisters in the area following a road incident on the N17 just outside the town yesterday (sun oct 21).

The babies, who were the only two children of Michelle and John Gilmore of the Meadows, Milltown Road, have been named as two year old Kate and three month old Grace.

They were hit by a car as their father was pushing their buggy on the hard shoulder on the Milltown side of Tuam, just before 1 yesterday afternoon.

It’s thought the driver of the car may have become ill and veered off the road.

Mayor of Tuam Eamon Kitt says the family is in the thoughts and prayers of the entire community this morning.
