COMMUNITY IN ARDRAHAN SHOCKED AT LOCAL MANS MURDER

The local community of Ardrahan is today coming to terms with the news of local man Finbarr Fahy’s murder.

Garda forensic teams are continuing to comb the house of murdered pensioner Finbar Fahy for clues.

A team of investigators from the Dublin-based Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrived at the scene in Tullira, Ballinduff this morning.

Local Superintendent John Healy from Gort Garda station, who’s heading up the murder investigation says everything is being done to find the perpetrators of the crime.

Gardai are continuing house to house inquiries in a bid to jog people’s memories.

The body of the 77 year-old retired farmer was discovered at his home along the N18 on Wednesday morning.

A post mortem examination showed he died from blunt force trauma to the head
