A community organisation in North Connemara has set about ridding the area of the plant that is known as ‘wild rhubarb’

The plant which has the scientific name ‘gunnera’ can grow up to 8 feet tall, and it spreads its leaves widely

It smothers out all other growth, and it has been spreading fast in North Connemara
