Community drive to make Galway dementia friendly city
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway Senator Hildegarde Naughton is to officiate at the launch of a dementia friendly communities initiative in the city this afternoon (Oct 18).
The launch of ‘Making Galway a dementia friendly city’ coincides with Social Inclusion Week and aims to raise greater awareness and understanding of the condition.
The project is a collaboration from a number of local groups including Galway City Partnership, the HSE West Health Promotion Services, Galway Volunteer Centre, Dare to Dream and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
The launch gets underway at 1 this afternoon at Westside Resource Centre.
