Cocaine and ecstasy seized in Ballinfoile raid
Gardaí have seized more that €30,000 worth of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis following a raid on a house in Ballinfoile Park.
A man aged 20 years has been detained at Galway Garda Station following the raid, which was carried out at the house yesterday (Friday).
A garda statement reads: “As part of an intelligence-led operation, Gardaí from the Galway Drug Unit searched a house at Ballinfoile Park on the Headford Road.
“During the course of the search, Gardaí discovered 1,500 ecstasy tablets (approximate street value €15,000); cannabis herb (approximate value €10,000) and cocaine with an approximate street value of €5,000, all subject to analysis.
“These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
Investigations are continuing,” the statement reads.
