COCA COLA STAFF BALLOT ON NEW PROPOSALS
Date Published: 09-Sep-2009
Staff at the centre of the Tuam Coca Cola jobs dispute have balloted on proposals put forward by the Soft drinks giant.
It’s understood a revised redundancy package is on the table, however there are no major changes to the outsourcing plans.
Union representatives from the Tuam depot balloted this morning, and staff from depots in Dublin, Waterford, Tipperary and Cork are doing so this afternoon.
All balloted papers will be sent forward to Dublin, and SIPTU is due to make an announcment tommorow afternoon.
Staff at the Tuam depot have picketed daily since Coca Cola made the announcement to outsource 130 jobs, including 27 in Tuam.
