CLLR MICHAEL CROWE CALLS FOR INVESTIGATION INTO CLLR CAMERON’S EXPENSES
Date Published: 13-Oct-2009
Fianna Fáil city councillor Michael Crowe has requested a full investigation into Labour city councillor Billy Cameron’s travel expenses.
Labour Cllr Billy Cameron claimed more then 4000 euro in mileage expenses in the last two years despite not having a car or a driving licence.
Councillor Cameron attended 13 different conferences in the past two years and confirmed that the Hyundai car he cited on his expenses claims forms had been owned by his brother Jerome, who drove him to the conferences.
The West Ward local election poll-topper then confirmed to Galway Bay FM News that his brother subsequently “got rid” of the Hyundai car and was now driving him to conferences in a different car.
Cllr Michael Crowe says he’s not happy the matter has been thoroughly investigated by the city council or the Labour party.
