Classes designed to get creative juices flowing
Creative writing classes for Beginners and Intermediate level will kick off at Galway Technical Institute in Galway City on Monday, January 16.
Creative Writing for Beginners with Kevin Higgins will take place every Monday from 7-9.30pm for eight weeks with a mid-term break. This course begins on Monday, January 16.
Poet, essayist and critic Kevin Higgins, will provide writing exercises for, and give gentle critical feedback to people who are interested in trying their hand at writing stories, poems, or memoir.
Places cost €120 and advance booking is essential.
Intermediate Creative Writing, with poet and short-story writer Susan Millar DuMars will take place on Tuesdays from 7-9.30pm for an eight-week period, also with a mid-term break. This course is suitable for those who have previously participated in creative writing classes or who have begun to have work published in magazines. Flexible exercises and work-shopping of assignments, together with the study of the works of published writers, will help each participant find their own writing voice.
This course will begin on Tuesday, January 17. Advance booking is also essential and again places cost €120.
