Clarinbridge’s Big Maggie in Ballinderreen
Ballinderreen Community Centre will host Big Maggie by John B Keane on Friday next, May 4, at 8pm. This Clarinbridge Drama Group production sold out three nights recently in Clarinbridge Hall and its staging in Ballinderreen offers audiences another opportunity to experience John B. Keane’s wonderful creation of 20th century Irish literature.
Big Maggie is set in rural Ireland during the 1960s where the recently widowed Maggie Polpin has inherited her late husband’s farm and shop. Her two sons and her two daughters anticipate a share of the spoils in this play which is rich in comedy and tragedy.
The superb cast of the Clarinbridge company bring all the characters to life as they relive the hardships of death, dispossession, domestic violence and infidelity along with shattered hopes and dreams.
Tickets are €10 on the door (€5 concession) and complimentary refreshments will be provided.
