CLAREGALWAY MEETING OVER BUS CORRIDOR CONCERNS

Concerns have been expressed over the proposed removal of traffic islands in Claregalway to make way for a Quality Bus corridor.

The Claregalway Community Development Association fears the removal of the present traffic-calming islands in the centre of the village would create a physical split of the village and make crossing the N17 more difficult and inconvenient.

A meeting is now to take place between Galway county council officials and local community, business and resident associations to ensure their concerns are resolved.
