CLAREGALWAY JOCKEY WHO DIED IN ENGLAND FIRE DESCRIBED AS POTENTIAL GREAT
Date Published: 07-Sep-2009
The Claregalway jockey who was killed in a fire in England at the weekend has been described by a racing journalist as one of the “best young jockeys” he’s seen.
Racing Post Journalist and friend of Jamie Kyne, Tom O’Ryan, says he could have made it to the top.
The 18 year-old Kiltrogue native and 19 year-old Scottish jockey Jan Wilson were both killed when a fire swept through their flat in North Yorkshire early on Saturday morning.
North Yorkshire Police are treating it as suspected arson and have released a man in his 30s on bail in connection with their investigation.
Two other young jockeys including one from Dublin escaped the blaze.
Post mortems are due to be carried out on Jamie Kyne’s and Jan Wilson’s bodies today.
