CLAIMS OF UNCERTAINTY ABOUT CITY CHRISTMAS MARKET

The Christmas market in Eyre Square could be ‘in doubt’ according to City Councillor Padraig Conneely.

The Fine Gael councillor says there is uncertainty about the market because the ‘Occupy Galway’ protestors remain camped at Kennedy Park in Eyre Square.

Last week, Fianna Fáil Councillor, Michael Crowe, called for the protestors to leave, claiming they’re giving the city a bad image and damaging business.

Councillor Conneely is calling on authorities to ensure the protestors don’t hinder the market set up.
