Bus company Citylink has been given the Probation Act at Galway District Court after facing charges of running an ‘illegal’ bus service between Galway and Dublin.

Last October the Department of Transport ordered Citylink, which is part of ComfortDelGro Corporation, to stop running a direct service between the two cities without a licence.

The firm volunteered three thousand euro as a donation to a charity before Judge Mary Fahy at Galway District Court yesterday. [Wed 28/4]

A spokesperson for Citylink says it does have a licence now to run the direct service between Dublin and Galway.
