A 26-year-old city woman has been given a suspended sentence for having a stolen caravan in her possession.

Theresa McDonagh of Bay 1, Rahoon Halting Site, Circular Road was found guilty of handling a twin-axle caravan knowing it was stolen on August 11th 2008.

She denied knowing it was stolen at the time.

Judge Raymond Groarke said that despite her denial, he had no doubt that she knew the caravan was stolen when she bought it.

He then handed down a three year sentence which he suspended on condition that she be of good behaviour during that time.
