CITY TRAFFIC MEETING BRANDED A “GROSS DISAPPOINTMENT”

Today’s meeting to discuss the latest traffic chaos in the city has been branded a "gross disappointment".

City Mayor Hildegarde Naughton made the comments to Galway Bay FM News following the meeting, in which she met with Gardai, City Manager, Joe O’Neill and Director of services for Transport, Ciaran Hayes.

Mayor Naughton said there was "no effort to look at real solutions" to the current problems, which have seen thousands of motorists stuck in long traffic delays.

She says there is a disconnect in communication between the Gardai and the City Council.
