Galway Bay fm newsroom – A walk aimed at raising awareness about depression and suicide will take place in the city tomorrow (May 24).
‘A Walk of Life’ is organized by Niall (pron: Neil) and Mary McDonagh in rememberance of loved ones who have been lost to suicide.
It follows a ‘black’ weekend for the county where Ballinasloe Garda Superintendent Gerry Roche says a number of suicides were reported.
Former Cork hurling star Conor Cusack will speak at the event, which will take place in Galway Cathedral.
A mass will be held at noon tomorrow, followed by a two mile walk through the streets of the city.
Organizer Niall McDonagh says that the walk aims to encourage the public to look after their mental health by talking, sharing and listening.
