CITY TO HOST MAJOR NATIONAL COMPUTER CONFERENCE

NUI Galway has been chosen to host a national computer conference on how new technologies are designed and made user friendly.

The theme is "poetics of design" and it will look at the ways in which technology design is shaped by artists, researchers and academics.

The conference is currently inviting applications of papers and showcases from people with new ideas in all aspects of technology from smart phones to social networking.

Headed by Dr Tony Hall of NUI Galway, the sixth annual Irish Human Computer Interaction conference will take place on June 20 and 21.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, he says it’s the first time the event will be held in the West.
