CITY TATTOO SHOP OWNER SENT TO PRISON FOR THREATENING FORMER STAFF
Date Published: 08-Sep-2009
The owner of a City tattoo and piercing business has been sentenced to 23 months in jail after pleading guilty to a number of public order offences.
38 year old Luke McMahon with an address at 36 William Street, received the sentence for threatening former employees with a hammer and a knife after they set up two competing businesses.
Defence Solicitor Valerie Corcoran said her client had a previous alcohol and drug problem which resurfaced when his business went into decline.
Imposing sentences on all charges totalling 23 months which she backdated to July 15th, Judge Mary Fahy said that “self induced drink and drug addictions were no excuse” in such a serious case.
