CITY SOLIDARITY VIGIL FOR PEOPLE OF GAZA

A vigil is to be held in the city this evening [Nov 19] in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

It comes as 18 Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli air strikes on Gaza today.

It brings the Palestinian death toll to 95, as global efforts to broker a truce gather pace.

Hamas officials in Cairo say Egyptian-led talks with Israel have been positive.

Israel has signaled it’s ready to step up its operation but Hamas has secured the support of the recently-installed Islamist governments of Egypt and Tunisia.

The city vigil gets underway at seven this evening in Eyre Square.
