CITY SHOP PROSECUTED FOR BREACHING COSMETICS REGULATIONS

A city shopkeeper has been prosecuted by the HSE for breaching regulations with some of its skincare products

The shop concerned is Afrika in Ireland, Queen Street, Victoria Place and owner, 42 year old Andy Olajide, pleaded guilty to four breaches

He was prosecuted under strict EU cosmetics regulations for selling three products which did not display a European address and for selling one skin cream range which contained an unacceptable level of a chemical banned in certain substances.
