CITY ROAD CLOSED AFTER WATER MAIN BURST

The water supply has been restored in Salthill following a water main burst earlier today,[21/6] however the Kingston Road is now closed.

City council crews spent the day fixing the burst pipe in order to restore a water supply to homes and businesses in Taylors Hill, Kingston road and Kingston Gardens.

While water has been restored, a spokesperson for the City Council says the Kingston Road is now closed to complete the repairs.

The road is closed from the junction of Kingston Cross to Knocknacarra Road and will remain closed until at least 7 o’ clock this evening.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and diversions through the Western Distributor Road and Salthill are in place.
