CITY OUTER BYPASS HEARING NEXT WEEK

An oral hearing on the long awaited city outer bypass is to be heard next week.

The matter will come before the Court of Justice of the European Union on Wednesday in Luxembourg.

Earlier this summer, it was announced that funding for the project, pending the hearing, is to be included in a European stimulus package of 3 billion euro.

Galway County Council is the lead agent on the project on behalf of the NRA.

Galway West TD Sean Kyne says he’s hopeful of a positive decision.
