CITY OFFICIALS CONDEMNED FOR NOT ATTENDING LAUNCH OF TRAFFIC
Date Published: 29-Nov-2011
A councillor has hit out at city officials for failing to attend last evening’s traffic forum convened by Mayor of Galway Hildegard Naughton
The meeting was held to launch a survey initiative, aimed at getting advice from citizens on short-term solutions to the traffic problem.
Over the next two months, the public will be asked to take part in traffic surveys and encouraged to go online to a website to contribute to forums.
Leading proposals will then be identified and a report will be presented early next year to key stakeholders such as the city council, transport companies and Gardai.
The Mayor’s Fine Gael colleague Councillor Padraig Conneely says the absence of the city officials as key stakeholders is not acceptable.
