City Mayor calls for fresh focus on litter management
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway Mayor Padraig Conneely says a fresh focus is needed to tackle the city’s litter problem.
His comments come as the latest Irish Business Against Litter League shows that the city has fallen to 33rd place.
Galway has been graded as ‘moderately littered’ while Dublin and Cork cities received ‘clean to European norms’ for the first time.
The IBAL survey by An Taisce studied 42 towns and cities nationwide and showed three-quarters to be clean or cleaners than European norms.
City Mayor Padraig Conneely says it’s time to face reality and accept that litter is a problem on our streets that needs to be resolved.
