Galway bay fm newsroom – City manager Brendan McGrath is expected to clarify plans for the former Galway airport site at this month’s meeting of the local authority.

The Council meets tomorrow afternoon at four in City hall on College road.

Galway city and county councils announced this week the acquisition of the 115 acre site in Carnmore from Galway chamber for 1.1 million euro.

It’s understood that the airport licence will be returned to the Department of Transport in the coming weeks.

Councillor Frank Fahy says he expects the site will be used for industrial development and job creation
