CITY MAN ROBBED CLAYTON HOTEL OUT OF FINANCIAL DESPERATION

A former night porter at the Clayton Hotel who robbed his colleagues at gun and knifepoint of 1700 euro cash to pay off his debts and child maintenance arrears, has been remanded in custody until next April.

28 year old David Vallot, of 66 Altan Apartments, Western Distributor Road, was wearing a balaclava and combat jacket and was carrying an imitation revolver and large Rambo-style knife when he cycled to the Clayton hotel in Briarhill on February 13th.
