CITY MAN REMANDED ON BAIL CHARGED WITH SEX ABUSE

A 72 year old Galway city man has been remanded on bail following his appearance before Galway District Court this week charged with the sexual abuse of two children forty years ago.

The man, who may not be identified for legal reasons faces, 50 sample charges of indecently assaulting two girls on various dates between 1968 and 1978 at a Co. Galway location.

Judge Mary Fahy remanded the accused on continuing bail to appear before the court again on July 13.
