CITY MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING GARDA

A 25-year-old city man has been charged with assaulting a Garda causing him harm.

Sean Kennedy of 36 Fionn Uisce appeared in custody at Galway District Court after his arrest on Wednesday.

The alleged assault against Garda Gerard Sweeney of Galway Garda Station happened on July 3rd at Bridge Street.

Sean Kennedy is further charged with drink-driving a car without insurance at Moneenageisha on the same date.

An application for bail has been granted by Judge Mary Fahy and Kennedy will appear at Galway District Court again on December 8th.
