CITY LANE TO CLOSE DUE TO ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

A public Right-of-Way off Dominick Street Upper in the city is to be permanently closed in order to stamp out anti social behaviour.

At this week’s city council meeting councillors voted by a majority of 13 in favour of closing the right of way on Burke’s Lane.

Cllr Padraig Conneely described Burke’s Lane as a drugs den, an illegal toilet day and night, and a rubbish dump and at one stage someone was sleeping rough there in an abandoned car.
