CITY KIRWAN ROUNDABOUT PLANS GO ON PUBLIC DISPLAY

A draft variation to the city development plan for the controversial removal of the Kirwan roundabout at the Menlo Park Hotel has now gone on public display.

The plans would see the diversion of a road from the Menlo Park Hotel grounds through to the Headford road.

City Councillors voted 9 to 6 in favour of removing the Kirwan roundabout in May.

It’s to be replaced by a signalised junction as part of the N6 Bothar na dTreabh scheme.

A four week public consultation period is now underway.
