CITY COUNCILLORS ASSURED BOND WILL COVER SOUTHPARK REFURBISHMENTS

City councillors have been assured by officials that the four thousand euro in bond money held back from Let’s Do it Global is sufficient to refurbish South Park

The matter was raised at this week’s meeting by Cllr Tom Costello who felt the amount would not be sufficient

He said it’s a fine facility which has been rendered out of action by the Volvo Ocean Race and stressed the need to get it repaired as soon as possible

Director of Services Ciaran Hayes said he would opt again for a four thousand euros repair job after an event which brought 80 million to the city

He refuted Cllr Catherine Connolly’s accusation that he was being flippant, pointing out his comment was serious
