CITY COUNCILLOR LASHES OUT AT HSE FOR WASTING MONEY

A city councillor says the HSE continues to squander money and waste property resources available to them.

City councillor Billy Cameron says it’s come to his attention that the HSE owns a house which is lying vacant only a few metres from UHG on Newcastle Avenue.

The house has been unoccupied for almost 7 years and in that time has been rat infested, needed fumigation and has also been occupied by squatters.

The labour councillor says it’s scandalous that the HSE recently rented a full floor of office space in a new private commercial development in the same area when they own property just down the road from it.

Councillor Cameron says the public have had to tighten their belts because of the recession, and the HSE need to do the same
