CITY COUNCILLOR FACED BREACH OF PEACE CHARGES

A city councillor and former Mayor of Galway has appeared before Galway District Court charged with breaching the peace at a city hospital.

Padraig Conneely of 13 Dún Dangan, Newcastle, had faced a charge contrary to Section Six of the Criminal Justice Act, before it was struck out yesterday.

Co-accused Anthony Baynes – with an address at UHG, Newcastle Road – also appeared in relation to the same offence.

Charges against both men were struck out by Judge Mary Fahy after no evidence was offered.
