CITY COUNCIL REFUSES EXTRA TIME FOR SALTHILL DEVELOPMENT

City Council has refused an application for extra time to build a restaurant and apartments in the Salthill area.

P.J. Canney sought an extension to demolish an existing premises along the Fr.Griffin road and Lower fairhill road to make way for a three storey building.

This would consist of a restaurant on the ground floor, 2 apartments on the first floor and 2 apartments on the second floor as well as a roof garden.

Planners have refused the application, stating the apartments which were previously granted permission do not now meet the recommended standards set out in the city development plan.
