Yet another city council meeting has had to be adjourned due to unruly behaviour

Mayor Padraig Conneely proposed expelling Cllr Daniel Callanan from the chamber this evening when the Independent member made repeated and loud calls for the clamping saga to be dealt with

Cllr Callanan said the matter, which involves allegations that some councillors had their fines waved, has been ongoing since April and he wants answers

However the Mayor had announced he was going to a presentation on webcasting the city council meeting and Cllr Callanan kept saying no you won’t, I want the clamping issue dealt with

The Mayor’s proposal to expel him was carried by a majority vote but Padraig Conneely was forced to adjourn the meeting when Cllr Callanan refused to leave the chamber

The meeting was briefly re-convened to hear the presentation on webcasting as councillors felt it was unfair to IT consultant Keith Young to bring him back again in September from England

However as soon as the presentation finished Mayor Conneely stuck to his decision and the meeting remains adjourned until Friday
