CITY COUNCIL LAUNCHES PARK AND RIDE CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN

Galway City Council today launched its Park and Ride Christmas campaign, which aims to significantly reduce car use this festive season.
Commuters and shoppers are the main targets of the campaign, and they can park all day in Galway Racecourse and travel by bus to the Galway Coach Centre at Eyre Square, with a total cost of 2 euro.
This year, the service will run every 15 minutes from 7:30am to 9:30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 11am to 7pm on Sundays.
The 2008 Park and Ride Christmas Campaign commences on Wednesday, December 3rd and runs until Wednesday, December 24th.
Also, as part of the campaign, Iarnrod Eireann will cut the cost of train fares from from Athenry to Galway, and Bus Eireann will reduce the price of fares from Gort to Galway.
