CITY COUNCIL COMMITS TO MAUNSELL’S ROAD PROJECT

The city council says it’s committed to carrying out works at a section of Maunsell’s road described as a ‘death trap’ by residents

Residents have been shown plans by council engineers to address the potential dangers arising from a stretch of the road that has no footpath.

Council engineers told a delegation from the area they were confident works could be completed by 2012.

This is subject to agreement on constructing the footpath with households affected by the proposals, and funding being secured in the 2012 budget.
