CITY COUNCIL COMMITS TO ESSENTIAL SERVICES DESPITE POOR FINANCES

Essential core services will continue to be delivered despite the serious financial difficulties being experienced by the City Council. That’s according to City Manager, Joe McGrath who was commenting on the council’s Quarterly Financial Report at City Hall last night. It shows that the council is currently overdrawn to the tune of nearly €4m. A shortfall in funding is being blamed on Government cuts and the non-payment of rates, rents and commercial water charges.
