CITY COMPANY TO THE FORE IN NEW PAINLESS INJECTION
Date Published: 12-Sep-2007
A Galway medical company is to turn technology found in everyday office printers into a radical new type of painless injection.
International IT company Hewlett-Packard has licensed it’s discovery of the micro-needle skin patch to Galway-based Crospon, a medical device developer.
The HP invention uses tiny microneedles that deliver medication just below the surface of the skin without causing pain.
Crospon will spend the next 6-9 months turning it into a viable commercial product and hope to have the skin patch on the market in 3-4 years time.
