A row has broken out between a city residents association and a community group over access to a publicly-owned building.

Community group Le Cheile is refusing to allow members of the newly-formed Residents Association of Corrach Bui use the community building at the entrance to their estate.

Le Cheile is leasing it off Galway City council, which stipulates the building must facilitate community development.

The Corrach Buí Residents Association wishes to hold meetings in the building.

Labour city councillor Billy Cameron is calling on city council director of services for Housing Joe O’Neill to intervene and broker a solution.
