City club’s team managment praise efforts

AT about 9pm on Tuesday night at the Claregalway Hotel, St. Michael’s were drawn against Caherlistrane in the first round of the Galway senior club championship but just a few hundred
yards up the road, the 2009 campaign couldn’t be further from the city club’s minds as the management team were putting the intermediate panel through their paces at the Galway Football training ground ahead of their final showdown on Saturday night.
The group of around 30 were buzzing as they braved the freezing temperatures to train under floodlights at Loughgeorge – and why wouldn’t they be – the players know they are on the brink of making history for the club.
