City and County Councils purchase Galway Airport
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The future of Galway Airport now rests with the City and County Councils.
The two local authorities have purchased the airport in Carnmore in a joint venture costing 1.1 million euro in capital funding.
The news was confirmed at a special meeting of the City Council last evening.
Mayor of Galway, Padraig Conneely says the aviation licence for the airport will cease next week.
