City Alcohol Forum condemns Arthur’s Day

Galway bay fm newsroom -Galway City Alcohol Forum is criticising Arthur’s Day – saying it magnifies the negative aspect of our relationship with alcohol.

The day devoted to Guinness celebrates its fifth anniversary today with music events across the country.

Diageo says Arthur’s Day doesn’t pose a risk to public health – despite mounting criticism of the event.

Earlier this week, the royal college of physicians said the day glamourises alcohol and could disrupt attempts to fight binge-drinking.
