Child treated for serious injuries following M6 crash
Galway Bay fm newsroom – A girl is being treated for serious injuries in hospital following a crash on the M6 motorway westbound between Athenry and Oranmore last evening.
The three car crash happened at around 7pm, and three people were taken to hospital.
A Garda forensic collision team is due to examine the scene this morning, and Gardaí are on point duty redirecting traffic.
Meanwhile, Gardaí have closed a section of the M18 motorway between Crusheen and Barefield as a precautionary measure because of road conditions.
It follows an earlier two car crash on the same section of road this morning, however no one was seriously injured in the incident.
Meanwhile Galway City Council is advising that Dr. Colohan road in Salthill between Seapoint and Grattan Road, which had been closed due to flooding has re-opened.
A number of vehicles which had been parked in the area, were displaced due to flood water and one vehicle remains adrift near Seapoint.
