CHANGES NEEDED AT PORTIUNCULA HOSPITAL

A consultant physician and cardiologist at Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe says there’ll have to be major changes at the hospital.

It’s due to a shortage of junior doctors in the Irish health system which the Health Minister is trying to address.

As hospitals prepare for next month’s rotation of junior doctors, UHG still has seven vacancies to fill while Portiuncula needs four more.
