Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Galway chamber of commerce has contacted all city councillors with a document outlining concerns regarding commercial rates.

The chamber is calling on the local authority to be ‘pro-business’ when it comes to the city council budget for 2014 which will be debated next week.

Over the past few years, the commercial rate for businesses in the city has remained static.

Businesses are hoping the rate will not increase in the coming year as many are already struggling to pay the current amount.

PRO of the Galway Chamber, Maeve Joyce says companies are seeking assurances about the upcoming year.
