Chair of Child and Family Agency to deliver city conference address
UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre at NUIG is to host its sixth biennial family support conference from tomorrow (June13-14).
The two-day event entitled ‘Engagement and participation in family support’ will highlight the role of services, communities and individuals in service delivery and system reform.
Norah Gibbons of the new Child and Family Agency is to deliver the keynote address and renowned boxer Kenneth Egan will also be a special guest.
The event gets underway at 10 tomorrow morning at the NUIG engineering building.
Professor Pat Dolan, UNESCO Chair of the Child and Family Research Centre at NUIG says the recent scandal in early years services highlights the need for more innovative models of community care.
