Celebration concert from Cois Cladaigh
Cois Cladaigh Choir will perform their first live concert in two years this Saturday at 8pm – the free event will be livestreamed from St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church.
The choir who recently returned to live rehearsals, are thrilled to be presenting a concert of Christmas songs under their new musical director Daniel Beuster, who is no stranger to Cois Cladaigh as his father, Martin, is a member of the group.
Originally from Clarinbridge and currently living in Cork, Daniel is a professional conductor and singer who performs regularly in Ireland and abroad.
He succeeds Cois Cladaigh founder, Brendan O’Connor, who was also their musical director until his recent retirement.
The theme of this Saturday’s concert is one of celebration, coming together and remembrance.
The event will include a mix of new and old Christmas music from the choir’s repertoire, including Jesus Christ the Apple Tree by Elizabeth Poston, My Lord has Come by William Todd, In the Bleak Mid-Winter by Gustav Holst and Jul Jul by Gustaf Nordqvist.
The concert will be live streamed on Facebook at 8pm and it’s free.
